Jamaa Journal Play Wild: Volume 60

Hi jammers! I’m here with the new volume of the Jamaa Journal in Play Wild! Hooray!

Komodo Dragons have come to Play Wild! You can get them for only 150 sapphires in the Sapphire Shop. The Komodo Dragon currently doesn’t have any secret area in Jamaa. We will keep you updated on The Komodo Dragon!

The Club Geoz has collapsed to the ground in Play Wild too. The Lines of Power also destroyed it, unfortunately. You can still go to a place that looks like Club Geoz through the Dance Party, on the bright side.

The Komodo Dragon Bundle is now available for 250 sapphires in the Sapphire Shop. The Komodo Dragon Bundle offers you a Komodo Dragon (it’s default name is Fierce Komodo Dragon), The Ancient Dragon Outfit, and The Ancient Dragon Den Set.

Pet Tarantulas have arrived in the Sapphire Shop for 50 sapphires! They will probably only be here for the season, so make sure to get one while you can.

The Phantom Flight Suit is here! Get all 3 items for 50 sapphires in the Sapphire Shop. You can fly around Jamaa whenever, if you have this outfit on! Neat, right?

The last page of the Jamaa Journal today is talking about two amazing alphas. Cosmo the Koala Alpha and Graham the Monkey Alpha.

I hope you enjoyed reading this  post about the new Jamaa Journal in Play Wild. Remember to keep calm and play wild, jammers!

The Meaning of the Alpha’s Names

Hi jammers! Today I have a post on the meaning of the alpha’s names. Enjoy!

Amelia the Fox Alpha – Amelia is named after the famous women aviator Amelia Earhart. Amelia means “industrious” and “striving”  in Latin.

Andy the Llama Alpha- Andy is named after the Andes Mountains in Peru. Andy means “man” in Scottish.

Atlas the Lion Alpha – Atlas is named after the Atlas Lion. Atlas means “to carry” in Greek.

Aurora the Arctic Fox Alpha –  Aurora is named after the Roman Goddess of the Dawn, Aurora.

Avalon the Owl Alpha – Avalon is named after the “Avalon Owl” in Orlando, Florida. Avalon means “island of paradise.”

Barrett the Polar Bear Alpha – Barrett is named after Jeanne Baret who was the first women explorer to circumnavigate the world. Barrett means “bear power” in English.

Dakota the Coyote Alpha – Dakota means “friendly one.”

Faye the Sheep Alpha – Faye is named after the name Faye which means “fairy” in old English and “loyalty” and “belief” in old French.

Felicity the Lynx Alpha – The name Felicity comes from the Latin word “felicitas” which means “good luck.”

Juno the Arctic Wolf Alpha – Juno is most likely named after the Roman Goddess, who was the Queen of the Olympians. She could also be named after Juneau, Alaska.

Koko the Flamingo Alpha – Koko means “night” in the Blackfoot Native American language. Koko means “stork” in Japanese.

Liza the Panda Alpha – Liza is named after Eliza Scidmore, who was the first female board member of the National Geographic Society. Liza means “joy” in Hebrew.

Mica the Coyote Alpha – Mica means “coyote” in the Sioux Native American language.

Olive the Cheetah Alpha – Olive is a symbol of peace in many cultures. Olive may have been also named after the Olive Tree or Fruit.

Peck the Bunny Alpha- Peck is named for Annie Peck, a women mountaineer who was part of the early National Geographic Society.

Tavie the Dolphin Alpha – Tavie is named after Octavie Coudreau who was a French explorer.

Valentina the Eagle Alpha – Valentina is named after the name Valens which means “strong, vigorous, and healthy.” This might mean that Valentina is a very strong alpha.

AJ 7th Birthday Party

Hi jammers! Our second post for the day, is also about a party. I’m doing a post on AJ’s 7th Birthday Party. Hooray!

The party takes place on a three layered cake! Surrounding the cake, is an ice cream scoop forest, and a chocolate river.

The vast (and delicious) ice cream forest!

There are three stores carved into the sides of this cake! One has the AJ Birthday Party Music, another sells Alpha Charm Necklaces, and the third one sells Alpha Statues and Alpha Balloons.

The Den Item Birthday Shop!

The 6 Alpha Charm Necklaces (Cosmo, Peck, Sir Gilbert, Greely, Graham, and Liza.)

At the party jammers love to eat lots of doughnuts, cake, and ice cream in honor of AJ. Sometimes it can result in some sugar rushes as you can see in the picture below…

Getting messy!

Every year the candle on the top of the cake, will change to represent the number of years Animal Jam has existed!

Proudly standing in front of the “7” Candle.

This year when you type in the code “AJBDAY7” you don’t receive a cake. Instead, you get 777 gems! This year there isn’t only one cake, there are 7 cakes. The 7 cakes represent the 7 wonders of Jamaa! Here is a link to a post with where you can find each of the 7 birthday cakes!

Interesting Tip: Did you know that you can figure out how old AJ is by what year it is? For example, if it was 2015, Animal Jam would be 5 years old. Or if it was 2022, Animal Jam would be 12 years old. This is because Animal Jam was founded in 2010! Cool, right?

Well, I hope you enjoyed learning about the AJ Birthday Party. I hope you visit this exciting limited time party! Stay tuned for more posts.

Liza the Panda Alpha

Hi jammers! We have two posts today, one was the Jamaa Journal Volume 203 and the second one (this one) is a post about Liza the Panda Alpha. Liza is personally my favorite main alpha. Enjoy!

Liza is the leader of the Alphas and the alpha of the pandas of Jamaa. Liza is very adventurous, and is often the Alpha who finds new lands such as Coral Canyons (2010), Mt. Shiveer (2011), and Appondale (2011.)

Animal Jam’s bio of Liza is below…

“Liza is pretty well known to the animals of Jamaa, since she personally welcomes everyone that arrives here and helps them get started on their adventures. Liza has always been a traveler and explorer too, and she vividly remembers the day her travels first took her to Jamaa.
She found a land besieged not only by Phantoms, but by internal conflicts as well. Rabbits and monkeys were always bickering, while koalas and tigers wouldn’t speak to each other at all; and it seemed as though the wolves didn’t get along with anybody. Even among the Alphas there was tension and suspicion. Liza has a talent for helping animals understand each other better, though, and she was the peacemaker who brought the Alphas together as friends. Their example soon spread to the other animals, and for a long time now Jamaa has enjoyed peace both inside and outside its borders. After the last major battle with the Phantoms, the rest of the Alphas set out to track these mysterious invaders back to their point of origin and learn more about them. Liza stayed behind, however, both to safeguard our home against further attacks, and to help the thousands of animals arriving here every day find their way around Jamaa Township.”

Liza is named after Eliza Scidmore, who was the first female member of the NGS (National Geographic Society.) Eliza Scidmore was an American writer and photographer who visited many different countries, just like how Liza the Panda visits lots of different Jamaa lands! Conicidence or not?

Fun Facts About Liza

  • Throughout 2010 and early 2011 Liza had a part of the newspaper called “Liza’s Answers” where Jammers were able to send in questions and Liza would answer them.  Neat, right?
  • Her favorite color is pink!
  • She is a Giant Panda.
  • Liza’s den is called Liza’s Garden.

Thanks to Animal Jam Wiki for more information about Liza! See you in Jamaa!
